This past weekend, we had the exciting opportunity to conclude the filming of the music video for Zikky's latest track, “Cost of Living,” nestled in the stunning rocky landscapes of Rasta Village, Mpape, Abuja. Known for its vibrant culture and breathtaking scenery, Mpape provided the perfect backdrop for our artistic vision.

As the sun rose over the rugged terrain, our crew arrived early to set up for the day. The rocky area of Rasta Village, characterized by its unique stone formations and lush greenery, offered a picturesque setting that echoed the essence of the song. The ambiance was electric, filled with anticipation and creativity.

The concept for “Cost of Living” explores themes of resilience and the everyday struggles faced by people in urban environments. Shooting in such a raw and authentic location enhanced the narrative, allowing us to truly connect with the essence of the song. The rocky landscape symbolized both obstacles and strength, resonating deeply with our message.

Our team worked tirelessly, coordinating various setups to capture the perfect angles and lighting. The visual aesthetics were crucial; we aimed to showcase the raw beauty of Mpape while incorporating the vibrant energy of the local culture. We also involved some Rastas around to represent the community's spirit, creating a fusion between music and movement that captivated our audience.

The atmosphere was lively, with laughter and creativity flowing as the crew collaborated seamlessly. Each take brought us closer to achieving our vision, with moments of spontaneity that added depth to the final product.

As the day progressed, the sun began to set, casting a warm golden hue over the rocky backdrop. This natural lighting provided a stunning visual that perfectly encapsulated the emotions behind “Cost of Living.” With each shot, we felt we were creating something special, a piece that would resonate not only with our fans but also with the broader community facing similar challenges.

As we wrapped up the shoot, the excitement was palpable. The completion of the music video marked a significant milestone in our artistic journey.
